Replaced the earth from the bulkhead to the top of the head last week.

Try earthing the connection at the gauge to rule out the wiring.

not that one, check the 2 brown/white wires to the rear of the head, near the coolant flange like I said earlier. one of these is the earth for the dash clocks, hence why you need to check them ;)

run from G1/5 on the fusebox
