Have been going through the car with a fine tooth comb before I splash out on my exhuast and found that the crank breather pipe to the PCV has gone really soft again, its only been 6 months and 1 oil change using the correct amount of oil.
Had some spare time at work so decided to check all the vac hoses and found the inlet manifold to pcv one cracking but not totally broken. I changed it anyway and rechecked it with a Vac guage.... (red arrowed one)

I pulled it off the inlet manifold and I got nothing. Squeezing the trigger pulled no vac reading off the PCV, checked it against the FPR and that was fine (was careful!) and MAP was the same.
Probably barking up the wrong tree here but is this right? I thought the TPS and MAP calculates the air but this by passes the TPS and to an extent may not be measured by the MAP as its too far away from the MAP Vac hose. Hope that makes sense to someone! Appreciate and ideas or confirmation
