Wing removal and refitting

new to the golf scene, and I need to replace the drivers side wing aswell as quite a few other panels, question is do the wings just bolt on ?

top of the wing also bonded on mine not too bad to get off tho :) (remember bolt behind bumper)

Yeah there is bonding sh!t everywhere. Along the top and a bit near the door. So easy to bend wings getting them off. FLAT scraper or chisel helps.

Thanks for the replys, just need to start sourcing panels, and some 14 inch steelies.

14" is more difficult then the 13" but where available on the later 1.8's and I think some older Passats.  :smiley:

mk3 pretty std on 14" steel got 15" on mine:)

The golf is only a 1.4 base model, to be used as a work horse, currently fitted with 16 inch alloys, with 2 close to the limits 195/45/16 tyres that need replacing at £50 a pop, and the insurance want another £40 if its fitted with alloys, should have steelies, 14 inch wheels are easier to find tyres for, Its only a workhorse but its got to be tidy, plans are to source a drivers wing, door and bonnet, get them painted along with the front and rear bumper, which are scuffed, then replace the lovely beige cloth interior with a better interior, perhaps a GTI one.
