Only got one key with the car which only does the drivers door and ignition. On bank holiday weekend I went out on the piss and decided to use my key as a lock on a toilet door that had no lock, but someone pulled it and it got bent! I straightened it and it worked ok with a wiggle but the following tuesday the car went to the bodyshop and with all the sitting around the central locking pump got condensation in it and now thats dead, so I'm having to use the key in the door, which is a struggle! So I've got a new pump on the way but I do need new keys (2 if poss) and locks just incase of anymore mishaps!

i spoke to my mate today he said the new keys would need codeing, but if you got a lock set and steering column from another car you can adapt it to the immobliser through vagcom.

All I did was swap the chip over in the key.

he said he want's 2 key's, and has only got one so he would still have to have one coded, i don't think you can code them on vagcom, at audi you have to go online to code key's so surley ihe would have to go to vw to code a second key?.

if you have 1 matched key a locksmith should have no trouble matching a 2nd key. you can do this yourself but you need to buy a vag-tacho cable, though they arnt that expensive on ebay. just make sure you only use the software supplied with the cable if its a cheepy chinese one as the later genuine software can wipe your cable chip

Well I'd want to buy a new set of keys (x 2), ignition and door locks so they'd be coded to the car I bought them from, Would it still be possible to code them to my car? Or simpler idea for the time being, if I bought a key and had it cut would a vagcom allow me to code it on my own?
