Head conversions on mk3 1.8
« on: 06 December 2010, 10:35 »
Hey all that read this,

Getting a 1.8 8v soon, as stated the other month, and its looking close to a reality (only 2 months to go!)

Was told through hearsay that you can fit a 16v gti head onto a 1.8 8v block, obviously youd need to fit a 16v gti ecu also and time the cam and fit the belt, but was just wondering if anyones done this before? and if so does it make a massive difference (i assume it would if possible)
this could be a load of cobblers, but if it isnt, im doing it

Nope will not fit, if you want a 16v fit the complete engine or but a 16v.
