Hey people, ;D
Im from australia, so we dont have a massive array of parts and bolt on mods. My question is, if its a smart idea to turbo charge a mk2 16v gti motor. Is it strong enough and so on, is the oil system good enough.. Also if anyone from australia is on here and knows where i can get Golf motors/spares from....please let me know.

Thanks
-Sean

I know that there was a turbo kit for the mk3 16v here in the uk but i have never heard of anybody turbo charging the mk2 16v.
I have no idea how you would go about doing it but surely someone out there has done it?!!!

I think I read somewhere about TurboTechnics conversions for a mark 2.  They were around years ago although I'm not 100% sure it was for the 16v.

Yeah that is right about Turbo Technics, they added a turbo to the 1.8 16v and a few were sold in 88/89. I think they may have even been officially endorsded by VW but I may have just made that up!
