I been thinking about doing this for a few months now but I cant justify the cost to swap, extra insurance cost and extra petrol. I know the R32 looks fantastic and has xenon's and 4wd and yes the noise but is it really worth it?

A few weeks on and can answer this. For me it is absolutely worth it. I never really bonded with my GTI, it was always feeling second best to the WRX. The R32 on the other hand is terrific. It's got all the wet weather grip I was missing, and with DSG it is extraordinary off the line. In D it's a lovely easy drive when out with the family and in M it's just awesome fun.
