Changing the handbrake push bar
« on: 03 September 2010, 19:28 »
Hi guys Ive bought a replacement push bar as the brake button is missing on the original one. As the photos show I have the centre console stripped and ready but me and my dad for the life of us cant work out how to get the old bar out, the silver metal but that goes through the back of the plastic push bar seems impossible to remove.

Any ideas?

I apologise in advance, that's not chewbacca that's my arm.

im sure you have to undo the bolts.. think theres 4 2 either side..  of the handbrake mate and then it should just lift off  :undecided:

then again i could be wrong  :lipsrsealed:

Cheers mate, gave in in the end. Figured it was easier to saw the new bar away then drill/chizel/file the remaining part of the new bar left stuck inside the button and then glue the button to the old bar haha. Works perfectly
