crazy electrics

rite then, we have had our gti for a month or so and the electrics are a bit crazy to say the least. it dont happen all the time but when we unlock the car the 3 working windows open to random places sumtimes half way sumtimes just slightly. next is ive found that if i put the heated rear window on and the sun roof is open it will shut the roof and i cant open it or the windows until i turn the rear screen off. last fault (for now) is when i turn the engine off and i got the lights and heaters on the heaters stay on until i turn off the lights. any ideas im good with the spanners but not so hot on the electrical side of things.

Heater fan staying on until the lights are turned off is normal.

cheers dude, thats one thing crossed off the list im not too fussed about the windows but its a sh!tter trying to demist the rear window and have a smoke on a cold day. the ashtrays wernt a good design. every time i change gear i close it with my hand then flick ash all over the center console. the missus aint pleased when she gets in and cleans it up

if you have an alarm or aftermarket immob it could be that causing the windows to open, I have an immob on mine that opens the windows if you unlock and hold the key a bit longer than normal in the unlock position. Also causes the car to not start untill you lock it again
I imagine I'd be as confused as you if the guy I got it from didnt tell me about it

Not sure about the sunroof but if it does have an alarm or anything someone could of messed up the electrics while fitting it? Maybe it thinks it armed when you turn the heated rear on and closes everything or something?
