Koni/Nothelle Suspension
« on: 18 August 2010, 14:53 »
There's been a thread running about a Nothelle-tuned VR6 that was up for sale on eBay recently;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Volkswagen-VW-Golf-Mk3-VR6-3-2-Litre-Nothelle-tuned-/220643728929?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item335f641e21

Auction has long sinced finished but was having another look at the pics, in particular the ride height of the car. It's low enough to look smart but without (at a guess) running into practicality issues. This is kind of what I'm after for my 'Valver. The car is advertised as having Koni/Nothelle sports suspension. Anyone know any more about this set up or who's ear I could bend to find out more?

Surely it would be easier to get some coilovers and set the ride height to your own suitablilty?

Nothelle are a tuning firm based in Germany mainly dealing with VW and Audi.

The receipt on the ebay add doesn't state its Nothelle suspension and I cant believe they would go to the bother of making their own so you can bet its Koni suspension.

Any coilovers with adjustable height will enable you to set the ride height to suit your needs. Ride quality will depend on the make you choose and how much money you spend.

Ive got koni's on my mk3 gti and id say they are the best of both worlds,a nice ride but with firm confident handling,i have the sport kit so the shocks are dampening adjustable (hard and soft) and they only lower the car by 30mm so only slightly lower than standard.
Not the cheapest of the non coilover kits on the market but you get what you pay for. :smiley:
