MK5 Flat Bottom Steering Wheel
« on: 13 August 2010, 16:49 »
Hoping someone can shed some light on this or point me to a previous thread where this may have been discusssed; i've done a bit of hoking through the site to see if i could find this for myself but to date i've had no joy and it becomes a bit teadious on an iphone to boot so i decided to bite the bullet, join the forum and ask in person. Apologies in advance if i'm asking a question that people are bored to death answering.

What i'm looking to know is if the airbag and associated bits from a standard mk5 three spoke [non leather] steering wheel as found in the n/a FSI models would fit the flat bottom MK5 GTI steering wheel without any modifications or hassle? I've been looking to change the steering wheel and have noticed the vast majority listed on the likes of ebay come without the airbag. As i have the standard s'wheel referred to above i was curious to know if the airbag i have at the minute is compatible with the GTI s'wheel or if a new part is required?

Cheers
