wheelfit problem,advice needed
« on: 13 January 2005, 17:34 »
hi all,
i've got a problem with some s/h alloys my wife got me as a xmas surprize.
they are 19" with 235/35/19 tyres
35mm ofset,pcd 5/100
problem is the rears fit fine, but when i came to fit the front two, althiugh the stud holes mated up the actual round centre part of wheel fouled on the brake pad so wouldnt sit flush on the hub?
any ideas what to do?
larger brakes/spacers maybe/or av centre of alloy machined to same diameter as std 16"alloys?
(all std 99 1.8t setup)

sorry for long post, hope makes sorta sense but for ?275 i realy wanna try get em fitted.

Get some spacers, 6mm on the front should do, and up to 15mm on the rear to fill the arches nicely. FK make good ones, just make sure to buy the "hubcentric" ones. You'll also need longer wheel bolts.

I've used Eibach spacers on mine. 5mm on the front and 15mm on the rear. Superb quality if a little pricey though,
