Right, sit rep. I've got a Mk.3 16v, 5 door shell, 1995 with, until very recently, no mods at all. I am 30 years old, employed, car stored off public road but not garaged. I pay near as damn it £400 for insurance. In last few days, car went in for some pre-MOT TLC and the springs and dampers were pronounced firmly dead. 'Twas decided to fit something a touch more adventurous than standard in their place but still very mild; 20mm drop, few percent stiffer and actually a few quid less than original 'Dub parts. Told insurers and they decided to whack me with a £225 increase in my premium; over 50%!!

Seems to me like a colossal act of daylight robbery, I'm damn near buying the suspension twice!
Anyone got any thoughts on this?
