prolly self explanitory but figured id ask...
« on: 17 July 2010, 16:43 »
nothing in the maintenance & info section...
i need to replace my radiator.. i mean the thing looks generally pretty self explanitory to replace (ie disconnect old one, place new one and reconnect it) but i just wanted to be safe. is there anything i should know before jumping in there and disconnecting shyte??
(ps. if you gotta type it out dont waist your time but either a site link or just a typed out step by step guide would be nice. Even though odds are ill read it once before going at it and prolly never look at the dam thing again, it would still be nice to have haha)
cheers

Nothing to worry about, just remember to bleed the system after you've replaced it to get rid of any air blocks. Think there's a how to on this in the coolant thread in the maintenance section.

yeah i believe there is as well. im pretty sure ive read it before. funny thing is before i bought this car i knew almost absolutely nothing about cars and now it seems im learning to fix something new each week. its like a loose win situation and it stays pretty constant haha.. still gotta get the part in the mail and then its going in. wish me luck..  :nerd:

I was the same mate. My old mans a mechanic, and iv always been interested in cars, but til I got the Golf, I hadn't had a lot of hands on experience with them. Raidator is a piece of piss, all the best with it :)
