Hi guys

I have a few posts on here regarding the problems I have had with my air con blowing hot and cold, so I thought I would update you all.

When it first went in the garage said that the air con pressure sensor needed replacing, and that it was quite a common fault. Whilst this got carried out, they noticed a loud knocking noise and they thought it could be a faulty pump and compressor. So I took the car back to the garage on Monday so they could diagnose the problem fully. They have it all week because they need to flush the system and give it a re-gas and all this other stuff. So I got myself a beastly 1.2ltr MK6 golf as a courtesy car. Feel the power ha ha!  Anyway whilst checking the car in for the work to be done, I was told my cambelt and water pump needed to get changed, and they had a special price of £399 to get that all done. As the car was 5 years old when I brought it, and I know from previous posts that it should all be done at 4 years old, I said I would check with the garage I brought it from to see what they said. Well I got an email back from the sales guy and he said it should have been done whilst the car was with them. He could not have been more apologetic, and he said he would cover the whole cost for getting the work done. GET IN!!!!!

As you can probably tell I am well chuffed with this result. I basically get a brand new air con system with a re-gas, a new cambelt and water pump all free of charge! I’m so glad the car has an extended warranty.

Now all I need is for VW to say the rust I have found in the arches is covered under the body protection warranty, and I will be over the moon.

Anyway essay over. Comments welcome!

Ba$tard ! Bit of a result there on the free cambelt

(lol @ VWs "deal" of cambelt and water pump at £400, got mine dont a few weeks ago for a normal rate of £350, dealers are such rip off merchants).

Fingers crossed on the paint work.

Ahhh yeah, so you are, where abouts are you? I'm often over Orpington way. I dont bother with dealers any more as they are just money (and time wasting) bellends.

My car goes to Tuning Werkes (http://www.tuningwerkes.com/contact.html). The guy who runs it, Ruben, also has a modded MK5 GTI and is quite the enthusiast. Be back there next month as I need new discs and pads :( £££

I live in Belvedere which is near Bexley. I know Oprington well, I went to college there.

Oh cool thanks. I think I am going to use a guy recomended on the good guys section of this forum, Dan Taber. His garage is just round the corner from my house, and I have been to see him just to get some advice and he seems like a top guy!
