Fitting ebay Window Mechanism...
« on: 05 July 2010, 16:58 »
Hello

I just bought a near side passenger leccy window mechanism (including motor) to replace my one with a snapped cable.

Is their a method to reset them? Ie change the starting/finishing height of the window?

I just tried it (outside of the door) before fitting and the arms that hold the glass will only go a short way up, but will descend all the way (and possibly further!).

cheers in advance for any clues!

Matt

Not to sure what you mean to be honest Mate but if you have bought the complete setup then it should just be a case of removing the door card and then unbolting the four bolts that hold the mechanism in place, then lower the unit and glass down until you can see the two bolts that hold the glass in place. Get someone to hold the glass while you undo these and then raise the glass back up and either chock it up or tape it back up. Then disconnect the power supply and remove the old mechanism and motor completely. Put the new mechanism in the door and bolt into place and connect the power supply. You can then lower the mechanism down a bit to enable you to lower the glass and bolt back into place. Easy job really Mate and should take about half an hour to complete.
