on the inside of the tailgate is a plastic trim, remove that and you can see the cl actuator and the boot lock gubbins. check to see the vac pipe has not come off the actuatyor, if it looks ok there check behind the driver side boot carpet/faom as theres another vac connection there.
if you look at the inside of the boot button, there is a metal rod going from it downwards. grab this and pull it upwards to pop the lock. now look at the boot lock and you'll see there is a clip either side, you need to release these clips to remove the lock. you might have to remove the tailgate grab handle as well. you also need to pop the boot release rod, it should pop out from the white plastic clip without too much force. last of all you need to release the cl actuator rod. on some you can pull the rod off the button, but if its stuck fast unscrew the actuator then you should be able to release it from the rod. The button will then come out, it'll be fiddly if the rod is still on but it will come out

now you have the button out put it on the bench. on the back is a circlip, you might have to push the button in to get it out. Release this carefully as there may be a wee ball bearing and spring behind it, try not to loose them. then you should be able to push the lock out from behind, fit the key in the lock to make it easier, plus this stops any lock fingers falling out.
once the lock is out you'll soon see if its matched to the key, or if its just completely crudded up. if its all jammed up drown it in penetrating oil then carefully push out all the lock fingers. lay em out on the bench carefully in the same order they came out. each one should have a small spring, remove these carefully so as not to bend them. then give the lock another drowning in penetrating oil and buff it up as best you can with a mini wire brush or something till its all nice and clean. you'll need to clean out the slots the pins came from too, a thin screwdriver should do the trick. also if the metal flap over the lock is jammed open spray it with oil and wiggle it to try to get it moving freely, this'll help stop crud getting in andf jamming the lock again.
once you're happy dry it out and give it a light lube of silicone lube or something similar, then refit all the tumbers. give each of the small springs a slight stretch so they regain their full springyness and make sure each finger slides freely in the lock. if not remove it and clean it some more. once done fit the key and hopefully all the fingers should retract flush with the barrel, if they do test fit it to the lock button after cleaning the hole it came from and check it all works as expected. If the fingers dont quite retract fully fit the key then you can file them down a little so they fit flush. if they stick out loads either the button is wrong for your key or the finger order is wrong. you have 2 choices here, either replace the lock with one that does have a matched key, or nick a ton of locks from the scrappy and strip em all down, then its a case of trial & error till you get a set that match the key, plus possibly a little filing. Of course you could replace all the locks on the car with a matched set but thats a bit of a faff.
hope all that is of some help dude
