Mk2 16v Alternator vs one off mk2 td
« on: 06 July 2010, 21:15 »
Would an alternator off a mk2 TD be a direct replacement for the 16v one?

Been hunting for a replacement alternator for the KR with no joy but found one of these locally.

Any suggestions ?

Hmmn, need a new pulley too so kinda would defeat the object.

Anyone got a 16v alternator with intact pulley?

doesnt really matter i recon, if you can make it fit and it charges a battery on one car it should do the same job on another, just get a mk3 bracket and order a couple of different size belts

Get what you're saying, but I'm looking for an easy life, plug and play as it were.

Alternator may last, it might not, but it's got cracks in it and cracks in the pulley :undecided:

Thanks, I forgot to say it does have power steering. So if donor has PAS would it fit or am I missing the point?

Just wan't something to be quick and easy for a change. No fecking about just bonnet up swap alternators, tighten belt and away.
