it's a NON air conditioner system.  In other words, it is a heater unit that doesn't have air conditioning.  In other words, if you want air conditioning don't buy that heater box.

No it's the heater box for cars that were not fitted with A/C. Most UK spec cars didn't get A/C so we have this style of heater box. I would guess most US spec ones did come with A/C and so therefore have a different heater box that incorporates the A/C systems.
