I've got the helmet one for mountain biking, and picked up the suction mount to experiment with some on-car stuff - it's ridiculously fun, and some of the camera positions you can get are awesome.  The suction mount is strong and never came off the car, even though I 'leashed' it to something with a cable just in case.

HD video quality is brilliant, it copes well with vibration (but not perfect) and the wide-angle lens gives a good impression of speed.

I'll try and stick up a raw vid or two when I get home tonight!

I've got the HD Hero, and I think it's definitely worth it for the video quality.  I used an original non-wide GoPro when biking in Canada back in 2008, and the resolution and image quality was really poor, so I'd say it's worth going for the single HD over two wides.  The choice of video formats alone is worth it (720p @ 60fps is truly awesome)

Raw vid on mode 2 (720p @ 30fps) is on youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUs1N18ae-0

This was taken back in December, when I first got the camera.  It did have trouble with high contrast situations and the low sun, but that's to be expected really.  Probably should've shot this at 60fps to get more detail at that kind of speed, but it's all a learning process...  :nerd:

thanks a lot for posting this video, gives a good indication to what the quality is like in real life rather than looking at their demos. Where did you buy it from in the end?

I have tried to do some basic videos on my canon 500d which is alright quality wise but is just too bulky for this and lacks proper adjustment to brightness and other stuff as it isnt made for video.

When I saw the preview footage last summer it blew me away, but then the prices came out, £300 is a lot of £££ to shell out esp when you consider what else cam wise you can get for that, hence my indecision between the HD and a couple of wides.

Thanks for the YT link :afro:
