I have a 5 yr old Mk5 with the above wheels and have the above problem, round the edges are flaking away and one patch on one wheel has peeled off. Just wondering what the best option is for me? I have been quoted 190 to get all 4 re-done where they strip off coating and redo it completly.

Any suggestions/advice welcome

Cheers

Depends what finish you want really, Having them refurbished you can choose different colours, polished face etc... So its just preference to what you want them to look like, have a look through some pics of members cars with the Monza wheels on and choose a colour

£190 sounds about right, i'd go for that as long as they are going to do them properly and not just redo the face of the wheels.

£190 is a good price if they're going to do a good job (I assume you know they're good).

You'll find firms that advertise £25-£35 a wheel but they are shockingly bad and they'll be peeling in no time. £50-£65 is what you'd expect to pay per wheel and you'd normally get a discount for having all four done.

they said that they would take the face off them and re do them, yes they have been recommended by local tyre garage, how long should this last for?

As long as you don't kerb/chip them and clean properly (with detergent and not acidic wheel cleaner) then there's no reason they won't last for ever. As long as customers follow the after-care guidelines, I guarantee my work for as long as they own the car. You should ask them if they are offering any form of guarantee.
