Polo 9n/mk4 info?
« on: 18 June 2010, 18:48 »
I've been thinking about getting a 9n or facelift 9n3 Polo recently. I've asked a bit on Club Polo but got little to no information so thought I'd ask here. Only a few questions:
Are the 1.4 and 1.6 16v sport versions rare? Every one in Ireland seems to be a 1.2 but thought they might be more in the UK. Getting a GTI isn't an option for me.
What is the PCD? Is it 5x100 or 5x112?
Is the 9n related more to the mk4 or mk5 golf? I'm thinking mk4 since it uses the 1.8T engine and the instruments look similar, but want to make sure.
Finally, has anyone driven or owned one before? How were they to live with? Good/bad points?
Thanks everyone

as far as i'm aware there was no 1.6 and the 1.4 came in 75, 86 and 100bhp form . the pcd for the wheels is 5 x 100.

i'd think they're more mk4 base too as the first 9n's were 2003 models and the mk5 golf didn't come out til 2005.

Nice one, thanks mate. Parkers listed the 1.6 16v engine on their website and review but maybe it wasn't offered in the UK.

You're right, I looked a bit harder on autotrader and found some. Cheers mate!
