was just driving down a country lane and for no reason at all the traction control/esp light came on so i pressed the traction control button on and off its it didn't switch off so while going along i switched ignition on and off it cleared it and then two minutes later it came on again so i done the same and it cleared...
Next thing i pull up to a junction and it cuts out so i start it again drive off no problems next junction does it again and then i restart drive off and all of a sudden the traction control light and the engine management light comes on and wont clear at all.. drove the car home the last 3 miles fine no problems with performance or anything but with both lights illuminated and i pulled onto my drive cut the engine look under the bonnet incase anything had exploded and to my surprise lol nothing... So i start her up again and she run for about 30 seconds to a minute then coughed and cut out...
I use my car every day for travelling to work and need it tommorrow so any ideas would be much appreciated !!!
Its a 2002 GTI turbo AUM.. 56k on the clock.. front mount intercooler.. typhoon induction kit and 007p these are the only mods if that helps..
Many thanks

you need to scan it for codes ! if i remember correctly the esp light can also indicate a boost problem not just an esp fault as it does with the leon cupras but not 100% sure on the golfs , but sounds like it if its cutting out
