To get back on topic  Its possibly 1 of 2 things either the video cable from the camera to the headunit?  or the fuse/wiring? if the retro fitted camera is been scotch locked onto other wires then possibly not making a very good connection?

All the wiring needs checking and the video cable needs checking at the camera side,  just take the rear boot panel off and you will see all the wiring in the camera.

I think my malfunction is software ( I came across this as I am also to be found on the dutch GTI forum)...when you put in in reverse you get the camera working for about say 5 seconds before the black screen appears...

The dealer said he contacted the importer....He also said he has to present them some sort of readout of my car. Something called DIS
On my request to inform them about my situation in detail the dealer said that this was enough.
Since I disagree I emailed them very detailed and asking for compensation since they sold me a non proper functioning rear camera in April and still not solved it in June be it with software...I do not really care actually).

There must be guys outthere with simular problems ...I think (although the dealer saids NO) it is related to there aftermarket PDC in combination with the camera..
Very easy to conclude since they repaired the PDC and the problem occurs....you have to have BIG BALLS to claim it is sheer coincidence.
I will not leave it with that....

Eric have a look on vwnavi.com and look through the RVC topics you may find what your looking for?

I've just retrofitted my mk6 badge camera in my mk5 but just waiting for my LED RNS510 then i can see about any coding issues?
