it would have been tracked after both arms were fitted, wonder if that could be covering it up a bit

If the arms were too long or the rack was wrong you might not be able to get the track right as the tracking is adjusted on the steering arms.
So if the tracking has been done and is correct then that shouldn't cause the tyres to hit.

I was thinking that after my last post, hmmm cant think of any other reason for the wheels to catch like that unles it was badley bent :undecided:

both there's damage being done to the brake pipes etc, but the noise only really comes when reversing on full lock - as the back of the wheel grates against the other bits
