Mine did this yesturday, had no air con on and went for a long thrash.. when i pullled up the fans where going mental!!... Although i would of thought while driving there should be enough air over the radiator to cool things down?

After reading this, it seams like I have the same problem. So I am all booked in for Friday morning to get it looked at, and they are taking a look at why there is a horrible smell coming from the vents when the AC is off.

All under my extended warranty, gotta love that.
