Rear Heater Switch and Starter Button

Hi,

I don't know whether this is normal or not but in order for me to use the starter button to start my car, I have to switch on the rear heater first. After I've started it I can turn the heater off. Do you think this is some modification a previous owner has done and if so how do I go about putting it back to normal. Thanks in advance for any comments and suggestions.

lol sounds fun, nice security feature in relaity it's probably some bad wiring somewhere but tbh, it doesn't cause a problem so leave it. I know if it was me I'd more than likely make it worse trying to fix it  electricity is wierd

Sounds like a previous owner has picked up the wrong feed on the switch loom, it's a good thing in a way cos people won't think to turn the rear heater on to try n start the car, unless of course someone off this site attempts to err borrow ur car..

I've since discovered the whole starter button thing is a mod and not an original feature (I should learn to use the search function better. Also shows what I know). I think I will leave it as is for now as I have enough car issues at the moment without creating more for myself.
