Rear Heater Switch and Starter Button
« on: 27 August 2010, 13:04 »
Hi,

I don't know whether this is normal or not but in order for me to use the starter button to start my car, I have to switch on the rear heater first. After I've started it I can turn the heater off. Do you think this is some modification a previous owner has done and if so how do I go about putting it back to normal. Thanks in advance for any comments and suggestions.

lol sounds fun, nice security feature ;) in relaity it's probably some bad wiring somewhere but tbh, it doesn't cause a problem so leave it. I know if it was me I'd more than likely make it worse trying to fix it  electricity is wierd

Sounds like a previous owner has picked up the wrong feed on the switch loom, it's a good thing in a way cos people won't think to turn the rear heater on to try n start the car, unless of course someone off this site attempts to err borrow ur car.. :)

I've since discovered the whole starter button thing is a mod and not an original feature (I should learn to use the search function better. Also shows what I know). I think I will leave it as is for now as I have enough car issues at the moment without creating more for myself.
