G60'd Mk1 Golf
« on: 10 May 2010, 10:36 »
Took these the other night. The car is a friend of mine's, he rebuilt it from a seriously rotten state. It's running a G60 lump at the moment, I'm not totally sure of the spec though it's seriously rapid and sounds more like a jet plane than a car!

Awesome shots - I'm new to the photography scene and was wondering about the light in the 2nd and 3rd shots

I presume this was created using a light source at the time the picture was taken and not added with some editing software?

Yes you're right, I use an off camera flash to light the car. Ideally I'd use 2 or more flashes but for the time being I only have 1. Usually I fire off 3 separate photos with different part of the car lit in each one then combine them in photoshop to get the car as evenly lit as possible.

It's not as expensive as you might think though. I got a new flash, wireless triggers, batteries and a light stand for about £100 in total.

Having more flashes would make things a lot easier, I've got my eye on some on ebay at the moment so I should be adding to my collection soon.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
