v5. bhp argument

quick enough to take your money but not keen to resolve issue with bhp for insurance.
recently purchased w reg v5 golf from main dealer, as a 170 bhp, my insurance company now tells me it is a 150 bhp, bellend on dealer phone tells me his computer is not working so cant help.
i guess there could be a diffrence in value so need to no.
any ideas?

the 150bhp version is listed as being in production from 27 Oct 1998 until 04 Sep 2000

the 170 bhp version from 01 Dec 2000 onwards

if that doesn't help, VW main customer service number should be able to look it up

What is your engine code?

170bhp = AQN, also identifiable by an 'EPC' light on the instrument panel when you turn the ignition on (this is because it has an electronic throttle)
