Mk1 Gearknob

Does anyone know if the mk1  golf ball gear knob was different to  the mk2's.I am led to believe that the mk1 was push on an the mk2 screw on, is that correct ??

The MK1 Golf Ball knob is screw on too although if you pull on it you may pull it off the sleeve that actually screws on the the shift lever.

The only other differences is that the Campaign model MK1's had the label on top of the knob with the gear layout pattern on it, other Golf ball knobs didn't and were just a round golf ball with no markings.
