How do i put sill covers on??

Hi all! This may seem like amateur stuff to some of you.. but i guess im an amateur! I have ordered some sill covers to put onto my mk2 Driver (got the arches and door strips that they fit with), iv converted it to a 2L GTi so doing finishing touches!

Just wondering how i go about it, i.e. do i rivot them or screw them, do i need to drill etc. etc.
Be greatful for any info....?

The sill trims themselves are only half the story, there's also a fitting strip that has an adhesive backing and a rivet at each end then there's about 5 brackets per side that also have an adhesive backing. The sill trim clips over the top of the strip then clips onto each of the brackets.

part numbers:

191853913 = the bracket, self-adhesive

191853941 = the retaining strip

191853917 = flap / for jack-socket

I don't think a semi will give the same results

Thanks, thats a good help on both your parts!! Iv got the back adhesive bit with it, i take it that sticks and rivots onto the sticky sill the cars got on it as a 1.6 Driver?

No, you should remove the sill foil (black sticker) before trying to fit the sill trims otherwise they will probably fall off. Use a heatgun to remove the foil otherwise you'll probably remove a load of paint with it aswell. There's also a specific foil (sticker) that is used in conjunction with the sill trim, it just runs along the top edge and laps over into the door aperture. You barely see it but it's there to stop the edge of the plastic trim rubbing through the paintwork and initiating rust.
