was at the lights in filton roundabout, facing away from mod towards bq, parkway etc. (2 lanes left for axa, parkway. right for bq dvla etc
i was in left hand lane, and some plank in a fiat multipla diesel decided to bounce it on the biting point. rocking back and forward. (nice way to behave with your kids in the car

)
i start pointing and laughing with the mrs at him and his misguided ideas
lights go green, he trys to rocket off. i however pull off sedately and change up at approx 1.5k revs
in the first 3 gears. dude veers towards me, and pulls back, then does the same again but doesn't swerve this time BANG! bounces off the side of the car, and continues on. was cheesed off somewhat at this and overtook him and stopped. then he decides to jump out appologising and say how he never saw me, how i was in his blind spot. admitted liability there and then, took his details, not including the insurance company (was more worried about the pregnant mrs) and got on, to get her checked out.
damage was ding on drivers door, real small. cracked mirror casing, dented front wing, scuffed and scraped paint on wing and down to bumper, and marked the splitter too
its not a lot of damage tbh, but i want it fixed, it wasn't my fault and thats whats insurance is for isn't it?
Just not sure what happens after i drop it at the body shop. the insurance company want us to pay either the excess or the cost of the damage and claim it back. Seeing as how i know this is gonna take a while to claim back. i'm probably gonna pay the money off on a credit card for the repairs. can i claim the interest incurred off the insurance company as well as the cost of damages. which they reckon is gonna be 50/50. can i reject this as i don't see why i should have to pay for the damage he caused at all. if i was at fault or partly to blame i'd go 50-50 but its not. can i use my legal cover to persue this if i'm not satisfied with the result of the claim?
