What is your favourite modification?

Just wondered what your favourite modification is? I think mine is my old recycled hazzard switch now in use as a manual fan overide!

nice topic...  :cool: i'll put something on here soon as i'm still fixing and not really modding.  i had a manual overide switch but it was additional hidden one... dont know why i didnt think of that... my car used to have a headted recaro which was switched on with an additional rear window heater sitch... i think i will use it for the fan!

erm relayed headlight loom is great

uprated brakes and 9"servo and braided lines are great

poly bushed suspension is good

front upper and lower strut braces are great

rebuilt engine g/box and gear linkages are the nuts  :rolleyes:

wayne gardner smokes one rothmans too many
500cc 2stroke bad for ya health

I have just done my linkage bushes, makes things excellent.

this has got me thinking about some cool mods i've seen about in mk1's!
(not sure what car it was in, but the coolant reservoir was hidden in the strut brace (i think)) - don't quote me!

Coolant in a strut brace... WTF...  :shocked:

im going to include a near future mod... sportlines on my Black From The Dead (photoshop but wheels purchaed)

My favourate was VW's own modification that was factory approved and very few exist. Quite a few 16S were sold in france but few RHD examples made it here.




My second fav mod is the mk2 16V motor in the mk1 but it HAS to use the scirocco 16V inlet manifold to be done properly to keep the airbox on the correct side and look oem.

Sort of, You could get it factory fitted or buy it after market.
VW sold the 16S in france straight out the showroom as a production model.
A few factory built uk ordered cars did make it to the uk in RHD (Like the one i posted above) a car i would love to add to my collection.
Iirc VW built 400 in house and sold them to the public (this allowed them to apply for motorsport qualification with this engine design.)
The rest were factory approved and sold thought VW dealers or aftermarket.

VW did admit to were they got the design idea from for there 16V  :grin:
