Replacement gear knob
« on: 14 April 2010, 21:27 »
Hi guys, will VW actually sell a gear knob alone? I have fitted a new leather gaiter at last, but one of the plastic clips broke on my gearknob so my dubilee clip isnt holding it as tightly as id like, plus the knob is worn anyway, so would they actually sell just the gear knob?
If so any idea how much? GT 130 OEM knob (6 speed)

although listed seperately its not bringing up a part number for just the gearstick part

Looks like you have to buy one complete and its approx £35

I changed my leather gator the other day and did the same thing breaking one of the plastic clips, luckily mine still holds ok. Could you not use a cable tie ? Also I would get an aftermarket gear nob personally, gotted be cheaper than £98 thats a piss take (probably plus VAT too)
