Direct Line renewal... or not
« on: 24 April 2010, 22:12 »
Been with them for the previous 3 years as they were the cheapest. Last year was paying £426.60. Renewal for this year.... £541.80!!

Got a quote (and now bought) with Admiral for £368.99 (aged 24, 3 NCB, fully comp, 12k miles PA, all mods declared)

Phoned Direct Line to ask why so expensive?... they put me through to their 'Loyalty' section and said they can knock £20 off the renewal because I'm a loyal customer... told them I've got a quote from Admiral for £368.99. Direct Line's response "oh............ we can't beat that" my response "good bye"

Amazing how it can differ so much each year, and pays to shop around.

Always shop around at least then your valid to moan about the price.
But really ALWAYS shop around.  No harm done but possible savings.  win win.
just double check that you get the benifits that you need or have, not to teach you to suck eggs. I.E the XS, the breakdown cover and the hire car etc.

Yep done alot of shopping around and even tried specialist insurers. Admiral came up top trumps with more benefits than what I had with Direct Line previously
