Help removing/improving these scratches
« on: 07 April 2010, 20:10 »

Took my engine cover off today to spray it and when cleaning it up and looking closely I noticed the shiny bit in the middle is all scratched. Any products you can recommend to help remove them? Maybe some wet and dry fine grade? If wet and dry would work what would the process be?

Do you just apply it like polish, apply it, leave to dry for 5 mins then buff off?

I googled  " removing scratches from plastic" and quite a few results came back suggesting brasso. I'll be getting some today so will let ya know how it goes.

if thats plastic then try some toothpaste (make sure it has bicarbonate soada in it) and if that wont work meguaries to a plastic polish normally used for crappy plastic headlights that should work. you could well find that brasso/autosol metal polish has to hard a cut t it and jsut adds more swirls
