He's right.  Dealers speak shyte all the time.

My service book printed in 2004 says 120k miles, no mention of time.  Things change but books already issued can't be updated.

where abouts in the handbook does it  mention about the timing belt??? i cant find it!!!

it has changed. Vw has updated it. I had a service last week and the dealer reminded me the cbelt is now due at 4 yrs or 60k miles ( mine is due in Sept due to it's age). 

LOL, I agree, but it's also written down in my handbook - I thought maybe they'd got miles and kilometers mixed up, but no, apparantly it is 120k miles.

I will be replacing mine at 80k miles.
