They're just as you've quoted. "a self tapping screw" i.e a screw that creates its own thread. A plate screw, a general screw.

Don't worry about it.

Basically the surround screws to your bumper - screws or bolts depending which car/where your mounting.

MK4 you'll use 2 screws. Just plate screws are fine.

With that fixed, you can then slot your plates into the holder, no fixings required.

Cheers mate, the screws already on the plates should be fine then. Will now be fitting my new surrounds and pressed plates 2moro. :grin:
