Right...I have just spoken to the horse's mouth...my local National in Aberdeen.

The price includes labour, oil and filter...and you can also take the 10% off voucher with you...all in cost of £27.54.

However, there may be a minimal charge (£5-ish) if an undertray needs to be removed.

However, no promise or knowledge of how long this price will last.

Do you think a main dealer would price match...haha!!!

Regards,
Billy

Oh come on, how are they going to change the oil without removing the undertray? Sounds like they might add a few extras in as well.... "Sorry sir, we had to change all 4 tyres as they were illegal and we've already disposed of the old ones"

Yes I would agree that they will be looking over the car for other bits that need doing (tyres, brakes etc).

Ultimately they are not allowed to do additional work without your authority so you can just tell them to s0d off.

There is nothing to stop you from removing the undertray yourself before you go down there for the oil change.

found this Service Promise on VW website -

http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/service-promise/like-for-like

"We promise to match any like-for-like written quote for service, maintenance and repair using Volkswagen Genuine Parts ® from any garage within 5 miles. It's that simple".

Do you think this will cover a basic oil and filter change...?

^^

Don't ask you don't get.  Though when I asked about their price matching a good few months ago they did say "within reason"

At that price you can expect to get some 'advice' about your tyres, suspension, exhaust, alignement ... battery and whatever else they sell, but as said you just tell them to change the oil and be quiet.
