What size Alloy wheels can I go up to-please help
« on: 20 March 2010, 17:07 »
Hello All,

I currently have a mk4 golf with 14" steel rims and tyres size 175/80/14 88H. I want to put some alloys on it. I am not sure what size wheel and tyre I can go up before I have prolems with offsets/wheel rub etc. I am really looking at 14" or max 15" alloys.

Any help would be welcomed

Thanks

Jason

on a std mk4 you could stick 16inch gti rims without a problem 18's will go in with a low profile tyre with not much problem its ony when you start lowering yer car that you will start to get things rubbing

Go for 18's with a low offset. I went for ET35 with Dunlop sport 225/45/18's,

Drop it 35mm, any lower and your driveshafts will rub on the anti roll bar.

Heres how mine sits now.. Im hoping to fit 10mm spacers on the rear soon.

lowered 40mm here with no rubbing...

I'd go 16s mate, you can find some OEM VW alloys to put on
