Coolant Pipe from GSF
« on: 26 February 2010, 20:09 »
Coolant pipe on GTi was rusted quite badly so i got a new one from GSF a couple of months back, cost £27 or so compared to £80 I think from dealer.

Mate was fitting a water pump for me and asked him to fit it while system bleed, pipe has an extra pipe at the top that's not needed. I rang GSF they told me it's the right one and some have to be blocked up.

Anyone else had this and have any suggestions to block it up, just gonna weld a bolt into it, or are they talking crap and have I been given the wrong pipe for one with aircon or something???

suspect the're talking crap.  The top of the pipe (from memory) goes to the intake manifold, the return the the expansion tank, and probably somewhere else.

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.
