What product can you use to stop bird sh1t from marking paintwork ?

During the last couple of days while i was at work a pigeon has sh1t on my car,my mrs and son noticed it and cleaned it off the bonnet and side.The place where it was on the side it looks like it damaged the clear coat,i`ve polished most of it off but in bright sunlight you can see it if you look hard.

what protection did you have on there in the first place?

autoglym deep shine ,and lots of auto glym gold.Funny thing is it was ok on the bonnet but on the side it marked it,i`ve manged to get rid of most of it but like i say if you know its there in bright sun light you can just see it.

sounds like oxidisation (sp?) to me... should go with some clay if it wasn't on there for too long (depends what the bird pop consisted of)

AG deep shine and gold? that isn't their HD wax is it? I would consider a tougher sacrificial layer if I were you... something like a colli wax provides a deep shine while protecting the nuts off it... combine that with a 'decent' sealant beforehand like jetseal 109 and you are onto a winner

The deep shine is a polish/wax for new dark paintwork and the gold is a sealant both normally pretty good.ive been thinking of trying new products,what would you recomend on a new black pearl mk6 gti?,i just want to wax then seal it every few months,i wash the car at least once a week come rain or shine.thanks for any advice
