Darkened rear light cluster
Door sill strip with 'Edition 30' logo
Red stitching on steering wheel.
As said, undoubtably a better car, but when it was new was certainly not worth the £3k extra (every magazine agreed). Second hand is different and probably worth paying £1.5-2k more.
The list price over a GTI when I bought my ED30 brand new was just exactly £1,715 (plus I got a decent £800 discount on mine). Many of the magazines made their initial judgements based on an estimated price of the Edition 30.
I reckon people would have paid that if it was a stock K03 GTI special edition at 230bhp, with colour coded bits, the 18" BBS alloys and the upgraded half leather interior with heated seats!
