brake servo - help =)

hi guys =) new to the forum as i bought a mk2 on wednesday (happiest guy on the planet atm)
cleaned up the engine bay the last couple of days, and am jus wondering about brake servos'
i have a 1.6 driver and am wondering weather they are model/engine size specific?
as mine is looking a bit worse for ware, thinking about getting myself a new one to tidy up the look
under the bonnet

Just take the servo off, give it a really good sand down and re-paint it! No need to buy a new one as they're quite expensive.

With the mk2, yours will be a 20mm servo. The Gti 16v model comes with the larger 22mm servo, it's an upgrade a lot of people make.

You can pick up a good condition 16v servo with master cylinder for £50 on forums and ebay.

not quite right jamie, the 1.3-1.6 has a 7" servo, all 1.8 have a 9" servo.

youre thinking of the master cylinder, those are 20mm and 22mm

If it was me, I'd get a 1.8 9" servo and refurm that, then swap it over. you can actually swap it without disconnecting the brake lines, but if you need a brake bleed/flexi line swap job I'd do that at the same time.
