mk2 golf wide track set up
« on: 27 January 2010, 15:09 »
I recently widened the front of my mk2 project car (mk3 arms etc) have got it all on, i have a set of mk3 hubs to go on all cleaned up and painted! am goin to fit new wheels bearing as there off, and i have no idea what they are like! am i right in thinking i need to use mk3 driveshafts, or passat driveshafts to reach the extra width? if so do i need different bearings to fit the driveshafts? or will any mk3 golf ones do?

any help would be great

reet, mk3 1.8-1.9 shafts are what you want, basically lump larger than 1.8 but still with 4 stud. mk3 cabbies will also do the trick, they often have 2.0 lump in but are still 4 stud.

edit: 5stud mk3 shafts will work at a push, just need to swap outer c/vs for mk2/3 4 stud ones.
