My vr6 was a 1994 and it had 280mm brakes.
I think it was 1995 or 1996 onwards all gti/vr6s got 288mm.

My old GTI was a 1996 8v, first registered Aug 1st. 288mm front brakes

Well work this one out my 1997 mk3 had 280mm disks and 288mm pads and calipers
Some people are pillocks and just shouldn't be allowed to work on cars.
