Tow bar
« on: 01 November 2004, 20:35 »
Woohoo, just won a bid on ebay for a towbar with electrics for the Audi 80. ?20 + ?20 courier from Edinburgh. Now on the look out for a cheap A frame ;)
There's got to be money in this somewhere.

Today I had to pick up my spare Audi from the father in laws (yes 6 cars now outside) I had to borrow my Dad's car for the tow hook and hire a trailer for ?30.

Hope to have all the bits and pieces in place to do this all for myself very soon 8)

No I was chuffed with myself for getting it so cheap. Having said that, he hasn't replied to my email yet :-\ Guess I better chase it up.

Might be interested in the car trailer if its cheap. My problem will be where to put it when not in use. Not much space here at the moment ::) Thats why I thought an A frame might be a better option.

Right I have spoken to the seller. He is decorating at the moment and so his computer is offline ::) Anyway all sorted and the towbar should be with me soon.

Have now decided to go for a towing dolly, something like this:-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=36632&item=4500891928&rd=1

I reckon I could pick up one for less than ?200 and it'll be nice and easy to store away.

Should be able to offer fellow GolfGTI members good rates for moving vehicles for them ;)
