I think if you send them the carbs they jet them for the spec of your car and build a manifold to fir them to your car.

Carbs are not the best thing on an 8v as they're located at the back of the engine bay. Ideally you want a cross flow 8v head but if you're sticking with what you got at least knock up a heatshield between the carbs and the exhaust manifold.

Not again...

Carbs..... replacing injection..... over an exhaust manifold.... really?
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Personally, wouldn't bother on a counterflow 8v, unless it's already had some major work done to it.  Especially if it's already on injection.

Wouldn't bother with Bogg Bros either, unless you have cash to burn!  Would rather get a local welder to knock one up from steel, it's not difficult.

Any pics of your motor? Might recognise it - I'm from Ringwood..

Very nice!  (Look like you need to tie up a handbrake cable tho!)

(I've put up the pic for others too see if you don't mind - there's a guide somewhere in the help section of the forum which explains how to do it yourself if  you're not sure...)

Mine is a mk2 as in my sig... I haven't fitted carbs to it, but have done to a mate's mk1 (a VERY low and loud light-blue one you may have seen around - but that is a crossflow 1.3, so well worth fitting bike carbs to).

Get yourself over to www.tidyvag.co.uk, they're a good bunch of guys based in and around Poole (a couple from Verwood too) - well worth getting yourself down to some of the meets if you haven't already.

Yerrp, they organise convoys for most shows thru the summer, normally leaving from Picket Post, Ringwood or Rownhams, Soton.

Never heard of the Holes Bay meet... but TidyVag meet in Poole one Sunday a month (can't remember which one tho), and most of them head up to SoVag in Southampton, which is a meet in a multistorey on the first Monday of each month.
