Plenty of people have.

Make sure you have meat on the brake pads, rubber on the tyres, that the geometry is set up correctly and most importantly, make sure it's not leaking fluids.

Don't expect to keep up with much, unless you're going to drive it like you really don't care.  Even then, drive safe, other people won't appreciate it if you collect them on your way across the track after mis-judging a corner.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

I did a track day at Oulton Park in a Mk3 8v & had a great day.

I would recomment investing in some Ferodo DS2500 front brake pads but apart from that just make sure your fluids are topped up & you have nothing loose in your car that could roll around & get stuck under your brake pedal (like that old can of de-icer that lives under the drivers seat!)

Take the spare wheel & jack etc out aswell as anything else not bolted down to save weight.

Most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Or even worse, you could end up like me, get bitten by the track bug that badly that you end up buying a race car & entering a championship!

Your Mintex pads should be fine. As for the suspension, if it handles well on the road I'd leave the ride height alone & maybe stiffen the damping up a bit. you can play with the settings between sessions & see how it feels.

My main bit of advice is don't get carried away & mod your car too much for your first track day. Initially your car will be capable of far quicker times than you! Take your time, enjoy driving the track & you'll get quicker through the day.
