Best time to change gear ( Race )

To sum the topic up where does the GTI's power start to fade off towards the end of the gear, Currently im running it right into the redline before im changing gear, Seems like it pulls nearly all way to 7000rpm, Where abouts do you shift up on your GTI's

Peak power is reached at 5300rpm and according to VW it doesn't start dropping off again until 6200rpm. They claim peak torque is available from 1700rpm right through to 5000rpm so in theory there isn't any benefit in going much beyond 5300rpm because you'll always be at peak torque when you select the next gear. Reality might be different- maybe someone who's actually got one give their thoughts?

Mine actually feels like it pulls harder the longer I hold it in gear, However experience with other cars makes me wonder how
